To the Astoria community,
It has been an honor to serve you my lovingly made, authentic Puerto Rican food for the past two years. I love being a part of this community, and connecting with you over arroz con pollo and wine.
But over the past several months, you may have noticed that my doors are closed a little more often, and my lights are off more nights during the week than they are on. I operate by myself, and it is difficult to survive on my own when I also work full-time outside of the restaurant.
Yes Mama has become my dream, and it is a dream that I have shared with you. Thank you to those of you who see what I see, who have sampled my authentic Puerto Rican food, and who have shared a bottle with me.
I am truly sorry if you have stopped by for some of my coquito flan or empanadas de papa and seen that my doors are closed. I love connecting with people, sharing my story, and serving my food to this community. Please keep stopping by -- I promise that when I am here my doors and my heart are open.
I'll post my hours on Instagram and update when I can on Google. Thank you all for all.
Love,
Mama Jessica
